“One thing that girls are great at is being friends. We’re wonderful in saying that ‘They’re perfect’ and ‘They’re great’. We’re less good in telling them to take risks. Give them that nudge, we’re not going to break. Really internalise this idea of being honest with your abilities, achievements and not downplay them. Remind yourself of what you have achieved. We tend to catastrophize: ‘You told your bosses that you’re interested and you’re keen??’ What’s the worst that can happen? They can say no.”
