“We have to address unconscious bias. We then start to spark that conversation. When we spark the conversation then we start to change perception. That’s what we’re really aiming for, changing perception so we can create a more equal playing field. It really starts with having the conversations and addressing that perceived elephant in the room. Until we do that, no matter what we do structurally or otherwise, what procedures and protocols we put in place, it’s going to keep happening, until we have those conversations.”
